Andrew married Nellie Lindblad in
1912. They had 3 daughters, Ruby born 1914, Hazel born 1915, and
Agnes Inez born 1919. Andrew died 1932 at the age of 44 years.
My sister Lu remembers Andrew &
Nellie's home as the Swanberg families would meet each summer for
picnics as their home was more central for them to
meet.
Andrew owned a Creamery and had
built a large modern home and a very modern Barn. An underground
tunnel connected the barn and the home. Andrew had also built a
summer kitchen, which was detached from the rest of the house, and
is where all the cooking was done during the summertime. This kept
the rest of the house cooler and also kept flies out of the main
house. This house was out in the county and had many modern day
conveniences for its time such as in-door flush
toilets.
This picture was taken at
the Nellie and Andrew Swanberg home in Trade lake Wisconsin, circa
1925.
